First off, Scar is a murderer and evil, and his desire for power was selfish and greedy. Scar used the hyenas, he had no intention of actually delivering on his promise for them to “never go hungry again”, but he merely needed them to overthrow Mufasa and maintain his power “pro quo you’re expected…to take certain duties on board” (Scar). He dismisses them and mistreats them and calls them “idiots”. The “drought” was merely and artistic representation to show how evil Scar was, it set the mood, nothing more, and nothing less. Actually, Scar is very clearly compared to Hitler in his “Be Prepared” number, and his intentions were as such. Furthermore the hyenas are never banished by Mufasa just because they are being discriminated against, they are in a elephant grave yard because they are scavengers, and are a representation of criminals in the movie, not poor unfortunate innocents. Besides, Scar is an evil villain and to call him less is a disservice to him! I wouldn’t have Scar any other way than what he was, evil, nasty, greedy, and a manipulator of the hyenas much like Hitler (well exactly) who used the same form of manipulation for his own ends.

I agree. Anti-smoking legislation has become discriminatory. I know nothing about science or health, but I suspect that the risks of second-hand smoke have been greatly overstated by the anti-smoking brigade. Regardless, I hate the preachiness of anti-smoking propoganda. This is supposed to be a health issue, not a moral one.
