It Can Wait: Procrastination Site of the Week

By Evan Petrack

Here’s the second installment of a new column here at the Forum, “It Can Wait: Procrastination Site of the Week.” Last week was StumbleUpon, and here for the second week is Sporcle. Read more to find out what the hell Sporcle is.

So, StumbleUpon get boring yet? Probably not, and even if it has you’ll go back to it. But ‘til then, I’m bringing you Sporcle this week. Sporcle, “mentally stimulating diversions.” Yeah, it may sound a little bit dorky, but hey give this little awkward child a chance. Before you know it, three hours have gone and you’re competing against your friends to see who can name the most out of the original pokemon.

There are 14 categories of quizzes on the site. For the social study studs there’s geography. For the history buffs…history. There’s television, gaming, movies, and music. Now if we want to get a little more intellectual they have science, literature, language, and religion. As for the guys out there reading this, there is of course a sports section which covers all the basics like Super Bowl wins, March Madness history, all that fun stuff. Pretty much, there’s a quiz out there for anyone and everyone, even holiday-themed ones.

But the real gems are in the categories Entertainment, Miscellaneous and Just for Fun. Can you name the beer slogans, bitch? Probably not, but hey, practice and practice again. There is indeed and endless supply of beer-related quizzes on Sporcle for all the bros out there. Or hey how about all the ingredients in a Big Mac? Now you wish you remembered that goddamn stupid rap from those goddamn overplayed commercials. Can you name all the Batman villains? Yeah, besides the Joker.

So hey, push back that Spanish class bullshit a little bit longer, and sporcle away.
